Vallespiken
A hike to Vallespiken is one of the classical tours since the beginning of mountain hiking tourism in the area. At a distance the mountain looks like a pyramid. The peak is at 1322 meters above sea level, which means it is a climb of 1000 meters upwards from Kvikkjokk. It is demanding to go there and back in one day, a stretch of 30 km.
The hike takes you first up to Prinskullen. It then continues along the Vallevare plateau all the way to Vallespiken. The plateau is easy to hike on, covered by a grassy heath. At the foot of Vallespiken the heath gives way to rocky ground and climbs 500 meters the last two kilometres. The view from the summit is magnificent with the Sarek mountain tops in the north and the rest of the Tarrekaise Massif to the south and west.
A hike to Vallespiken is especially suitable for hikers wanting to have a two-day outing and sleep in a tent.
It is also possible to get over the river with the regular tour to Vallevárre we have scheduled departures. Please contact us if you would like to go at another hour. For the way back, the ride may be booked. Also, there is a telephone at the boat place to use for calling a ride.
